North Nanaimo Homes
Homes in this newer area of town are highly coveted for their spacious floor plans and stunning views. North Nanaimo homes for sale also enjoy lots of nearby shopping in addition to dining, nearby parks, and public beach access.
Unlike some of the city's more established neighbourhoods, North Nanaimo real estate is relatively new. Much of the development in this area has taken place in the last 30 years, with newer subdivisions popping up all the time.

Even if your home doesn't have a view of the ocean, you're almost guaranteed to have a nearby community park, nature trail or beach access within walking distance of most North Nanaimo homes for sale. Piper's Lagoon Park is a local gem, and is a favourite amongst dog owners who can be found beach combing the scenic shoreline.
One cannot talk about North Nanaimo without mentioning Woodgrove Centre, the Island's largest shopping mall. With over 724,713 square feet of retail space, you can really shop till you drop. Other notable stores in the area include Home Depot, Costco, Cabelas, Canadian Tire, The Bay, and Chapters.
North Nanaimo is also developing quite the reputation for its local dining scene. The Longwood Brewpub is a popular watering hole, with a number of house-made beers on tap. The dining room upstairs features an upscale menu, and a Sunday brunch that is out of this world.
For Japanese food, Nori Restaurant offers a friendly atmosphere, and a dynamite sushi menu. Hilltop Bistro on Rutherford Rd. is a hidden gem serving locally inspired menu for those diners seeking an upscale meal.
